Shoreline Treasure Pendant with a real Cowrie Shell

A delicate Sterling silver pendant encapsulating a real Cowrie shell found on an Orkney beach.  This is such a special pendant containg a real rare shell.  The length of pendant is 30 mm approximately.

In Orkney Cowries are called Grotie Buckies and are said to bring luck to the bearer. It’s a great sport trying to spot these tiny shells on the shoreline and sometimes it can get quite competative who can collect the most.

There are two spieces of Cowries found in Orkney. Northern Cowrie, which has no markings and the slightly larger European Cowrie which has 3 spots on their backs.
